The number of Dutch speakers in the world may not be as high as other languages, but there still are some 21 million people who speak Dutch as their native language. Most live in Western Europe, while others live in the Caribbean, North America, and parts of Africa. Needless to say there are times when there is a need to translate a PDF to or from Dutch.
One of the fastest and easiest ways to translate a Dutch PDF is by using a computer running one of the best software tools on the market: Babylon. The creators of the Babylon software have been at it since 1998, creating one of the finest translation programs written for Windows and Mac computers.
Translate PDF's with confidence
Given that so many software products come and go over the years, what is the success of Babylon's staying power? Their success lies in their commitment to always producing the most comprehensive translation platform with extra features that add real value.
For example, some software translation tools only concentrate on the top 12 or 15 languages spoken around the world. Not Babylon. The latest version of their software supports 75 different languages; from the most well known to the somewhat obscure. A few of the other features of Babylon 9 include:
- access to Wikipedia in 25 languages
- online access to more than 2,000 dictionary titles
- spell checking and proofreading of documents
- audio pronunciation tool
- full integration with Microsoft Office dictionaries
Translate PDF's in part or in whole
With Babylon you can translate entire PDF's regardless of their size, or just select certain words, phrases or blocks of text. The choice is yours. For the entire document all you have to do is copy the text into your clipboard, paste it into the Babylon translation window, and select the new language. Babylon takes care of the rest.
For smaller sections of text you have the option of using the one-click translation feature. One-click translation allows you to work with single words or sentences without having to cut and paste. Just select your text, hold down the Ctrl key, and right-click your mouse. You'll see a pop-up window appear almost instantly giving translations, dictionary entries, and more.
Translate more than just PDF's
We're getting the word out about Babylon by promoting the software's PDF translation abilities. But the fact is, the software works with just about any program running on your Windows or Mac computer. You can use it to translate word processor documents, spreadsheets, plain text files, and e-mail. You can even use it to provide translation of websites.
When you're using Babylon with PDF's you'll have to be sure to turn off document protection in your reader's options. Otherwise you might not be able to copy text to your clipboard. If your PDF reader does not support turning off document protection you can always download a free copy of Adobe Reader from their website.
Translating PDF's to or from Dutch doesn't need to be hard or complicated. With a software tool like Babylon you'll be able to complete all your translations with barely a fuss. It's a tool you really need if you do extensive translation work.
