Even though Portuguese is one of the top five most spoken languages in the world, there are times when non-Portuguese speakers need access to PDF's and other documents written in that language. Babylon 9 works with almost every program running on your computer. But the creators included specific integration with Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office. With Acrobat, you can translate right within your document as long as the document protection option is turned off in the program settings. That means no copying and pasting the text; simply translate on-the-fly.

As for Microsoft Office, Babylon integrates itself with the suite's built-in dictionaries. That means you can use one-click translation right inside your Office document regardless of whether it is a word processor file, spreadsheet, exchange file, presentation, or database file.

Babylon is fully compatible with most Windows and Mac systems. Unfortunately, there is no alternative version for Linux or BSD users. If you're using one of those operating systems you might be able to use Babylon through WINE emulation, but there's no guarantee it will work properly in that environment.
