Translate Portuguese PDF to Other Languages
Even though Portuguese is one of the top five most spoken languages in the world, there are times when non-Portuguese speakers need access to PDF's and other documents written in that language. Perhaps an international traveller, a businessman, or even an educator might have Portuguese PDF's that need to be translated into other languages.
Before you hire a translator or resign yourself to the fact that you'll have to do it all manually, consider giving Babylon 9 a try. Babylon is a software program from an Israeli company designed to provide quick and accurate translation of documents into dozens of languages.
Translate Portuguese PDF's with more than 75 options
Some translation tools concentrate only on the "big five" languages of English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, and Chinese. Not Babylon. No, the creators of Babylon 9 included support for more than 75 languages from around the globe. In addition to the "big five" you also get support for:
- Romanian
- Turkish
- Danish
- Arabic
- Hindi
- Hebrew
- and dozens more
When you install the Babylon software the automated installation process searches your computer for the most commonly used languages. Those languages will be installed as part of your default settings. If you want to add more languages not found by the installation process, you can do so manually.
Translate Portuguese PDF's in two ways
The most common method of translating Portuguese PDF's using Babylon is to copy the text and paste it into Babylon's translation window. This is the appropriate method for large paragraphs or entire documents. When you paste the text into the window you will be able to choose your new language from the drop-down box provided. You're only limited to the individual languages included in your installation.
If you have single words or sentences there is an optional, and quicker, way to translate using Babylon. It's called one-click translation. All you need do is select your text, hold down the Ctrl key, and right-click your mouse. Babylon will present you with a pop-up window based on the options you've chosen. You'll be able to see dictionary lookups in your own language as well as translations of all the languages you've included.
Translate Portuguese PDF's with Adobe and Office integration
Babylon 9 works with almost every program running on your computer. But the creators included specific integration with Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office. With Acrobat, you can translate right within your document as long as the document protection option is turned off in the program settings. That means no copying and pasting the text; simply translate on-the-fly.
As for Microsoft Office, Babylon integrates itself with the suite's built-in dictionaries. That means you can use one-click translation right inside your Office document regardless of whether it is a word processor file, spreadsheet, exchange file, presentation, or database file.
Babylon is fully compatible with most Windows and Mac systems. Unfortunately, there is no alternative version for Linux or BSD users. If you're using one of those operating systems you might be able to use Babylon through WINE emulation, but there's no guarantee it will work properly in that environment.
To translate Portuguese PDF's into other languages, your best bet is the Babylon software. When you use Babylon your translations are quick, efficient, and easier than ever.
